Goodness and Mercy shall follow me
THEME: 2023 YEAR OF DIVINE PROVISIONS AND UNFAILING MERCIES TOPIC: Goodness and Mercy shall follow me TEXT: PSALM 23:6 INTRODUCTION: It is only an ungrateful heart that will not acknowledge the goodness of God in life. David was not such a man. Having been brought up from the wilderness where he looked after sheep to the highest position and sustained by God on the throne of Israel, he penned for us his experience of the goodness of God. Not only was God good to him, but God also showed him mercy on many occasions in the place of judgment. What is it about God’s goodness and about His mercy that David wants us to know about in this psalm? We get to know this, first by looking at the definitions. Goodness of God is about His generosity to all His creation and His mercy is about the pardon He gives [...]
THE HAND OF GOD
2022: Year of Divine Facilitation and Discernible Fulfillment TEXT: Ezra 7:6 TOPIC: The hand of God INTRODUCTION: The hand is a tool of locomotion or movement. The hands do so much for us, grasping, feeling, holding, manipulating, caressing and more. Spiritually, it blesses and represents strength, protection and power. Because it does the will of the owner, it may symbolically represent the person or an extension of the person. The attribution of a hand to God called anthropomorphism is a human concept to visualize God or giving Him human descriptors. The hand of God can refer to His power and judgment whereby He can make and unmake, create and destroy. It can also represent His mercy and forgiveness (Ps 37:24). God moves to achieve His plans with His hands. It represents His intervention, facilitation or approval of human affairs. In essence it is the medium where God does everything by [...]
WALKING WITH GOD
TOPIC: THE RACE THAT SET BEFORE US TEXT: Hebrews 12:1-3 Introduction: A Race is usually competition between runners, horses or vehicles to see which is fastest in covering a set course. However in relation to the Christian race, it is not about competing with others or who is the fastest. A Christian is not to be anxious, and subject to fretting. He does not need to be unnecessarily aware of surroundings because he has a lane and he is running his race. He is not to worry about anyone or anything. Look . . .he doesn’t even need to care about who gets to heaven first. He doesn’t need worry about what the world or anyone else says or does. All that needs to be done is get clarity about what God has in store for you. The word of God tells us to look back on the testimony and [...]
Except the Lord build the house
LSM Sunday Message December 27, 2020 Theme: Godly Inclination and Overflowing Divine presence TOPIC: Except The Lord build the house TEXT: 1Chronicles 17:10-14 INTRODUCTION: Psalms 127 declares that except the Lord build the house those who build it labor in vain. David wanted to build a house for God, it was a good thing he indited on, but God does not live in houses built with human hands. He told David “Wheresoever I have walked with Israel, spoke I a word to any of the leaders of Israel, whom I have commanded to feed my people, saying, why have ye not built me an house of cedars? In our text of today the reply of God to David is consistent with His principle that He only can build a house that can contain Him. In the fulfillment of the word of the Lord, Solomon acknowledged that the Temple he built [...]
God’s faithfulness
TEXT: 2 Kings 14: 26, 27 INTRODUCTION: Faithfulness is adhering to whatever or whoever you owe allegiance. It is doing what you say you will do and acting according to your nature. God is faithful because His nature is unchanging. He is the unchanging changer. Because of the nature of God our hope finds a strong foundation. If God were not faithful, our salvation to eternal life could be in jeopardy. Is 25:1 and 14:27 say “O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. “For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back? Rom. 8:29-30 declares “For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He [...]
Everyone will give account
TEXT: 2 Kings 15: 3, 9, 10, 16, 18, 24, 28, 34, 35 INTRODUCTION: One of the key lessons that Jesus taught His disciples was accountability. He taught this lesson having in mind that all who have come to Him were stewards. Not only are Christians to be ready as He taught using the five wise and foolish virgins, but that they have to be accountable for their stewardship. If you admit that you have been saved to serve, than at the end of your service you should have a report or certificate of service. In essence everyone who comes to Christ must give an account of what they have done as witnesses. You have been given power and authority to be witnesses of the good news Jesus came to give to mankind through His death on the cross of Calvary. How well are you doing? It is time to [...]
