WALKING WITH GOD

TOPIC: THE RACE THAT SET BEFORE US TEXT: Hebrews 12:1-3 Introduction: A Race is usually competition between runners, horses or vehicles to see which is fastest in covering a set course. However in relation to the Christian race, it is not about competing with others or who is the fastest. A Christian is not to be anxious, and subject to fretting. He does not need to be unnecessarily aware of surroundings because he has a lane and he is running his race. He is not to worry about anyone or anything. Look . . .he doesn’t even need to care about who gets to heaven first. He doesn’t need worry about what the world or anyone else says or does. All that needs to be done is get clarity about what God has in store for you. The word of God tells us to look back on the testimony and [...]

Except the Lord build the house

LSM Sunday Message December 27, 2020 Theme: Godly Inclination and Overflowing Divine presence  TOPIC: Except The Lord build the house TEXT: 1Chronicles 17:10-14 INTRODUCTION: Psalms 127 declares that except the Lord build the house those who build it labor in vain. David wanted to build a house for God, it was a good thing he indited on, but God does not live in houses built with human hands. He told David “Wheresoever I have walked with Israel, spoke I a word to any of the leaders of Israel, whom I have commanded to feed my people, saying, why have ye not built me an house of cedars?  In our text of today the reply of God to David is consistent with His principle that He only can build a house that can contain Him. In the fulfillment of the word of the Lord, Solomon acknowledged that the Temple he built [...]

God’s faithfulness

TEXT: 2 Kings 14: 26, 27 INTRODUCTION: Faithfulness is adhering to whatever or whoever you owe allegiance. It is doing what you say you will do and acting according to your nature. God is faithful because His nature is unchanging. He is the unchanging changer. Because of the nature of God our hope finds a strong foundation. If God were not faithful, our salvation to eternal life could be in jeopardy. Is 25:1 and 14:27 say “O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. “For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back? Rom. 8:29-30 declares “For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He [...]

Everyone will give account

TEXT: 2 Kings 15: 3, 9, 10, 16, 18, 24, 28, 34, 35 INTRODUCTION: One of the key lessons that Jesus taught His disciples was accountability. He taught this lesson having in mind that all who have come to Him were stewards. Not only are Christians to be ready as He taught using the five wise and foolish virgins, but that they have to be accountable for their stewardship. If you admit that you have been saved to serve, than at the end of your service you should have a report or certificate of service. In essence everyone who comes to Christ must give an account of what they have done as witnesses. You have been given power and authority to be witnesses of the good news Jesus came to give to mankind through His death on the cross of Calvary. How well are you doing? It is time to [...]

Signs of a spiritually divided heart

Text:  1 King 11:4-8 INTRODUCTION: Jesus summarized for us the way we are supposed to love God. “You shall love the Lord Your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your heart” God does not expect anything less than this from any of His children. When the chosen people of God performed below this expectation, God told them through Isaiah and same echoed by Jesus echoed Is. 29:13 in Matt. 15: 8 “You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you: These people honor me with their lips but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men” If we expect God’s promises to be fulfilled in our lives this year, our hearts must be single with Him.  A heart that is not single: It is a divided heart. David in Psalm 86 [...]

Heart Transformation

TEXT: 1Kings 8: 56-61 TOPIC: Heart transformation INTRODUCTION: The heart is the seat of emotions, passions and appetites in man. Whatever we resolve to do, we incline towards and determine to do come from it. As the center of our physical and spiritual being it plays an important role in our relationship with God. The bible declares; “you shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind and with all your strength (Deut 6:5). In these verses called the Shema, the whole heart of man is required in relationship with God for positive results. Solomon was careful to underscore this to the people of God as conditions for continued fulfillment of God’s promises, faithfulness and presence. Why did he need to stress this fact? It is because of the following reasons: 1. The natural inclination of the heart: The [...]
