OFFERING ACCEPTABLE SACRIFICE TO GOD

TOPIC: Offering acceptable sacrifice TEXT: PSALM 100: 3-4; Psalm 103:1; Romans 12:1-2 INTRODUCTION: God is LORD who made us and owns us. Passionately praising the Lord with all that is within us, is expected from every believer. It is to be totally consumed by His praise so that nothing of us is left. When this is done God takes over to intervene at the altar. As long as a man is still alive to himself, the possibility of God taking over is limited. God is a Jealous God who wants all the glory to Himself.  One of the characteristics of any altar is the sacrifice that is offered on it. Abraham took his only child of old age Isaac to mount Moriah totally yielding to the command of God, Moses left the palace as a prince to totally commit to live with the people of God, David would not offer [...]

WAITING – A WAY OF PRAISING GOD

TOPIC: Waiting- a way of Praising God TEXT: PSALM 29: 1-2; Psalm 33:1-3; 18-21; Psalm 130:5-7 INTRODUCTION: There are so many exhortations for God’s creation to praise Him. This is because of His great manifestations in nature. In the thunderstorms, David described the power of God as at the Red Sea dividing it for His people to pass, all by the sound of His voice. It shakes the wilderness trees bare and the mountains tremble and causes premature births in deer because of fear. God used His voice to call forth the waters in the foundation of the earth and in the firmament of heaven in the time of Noah, to flood the earth because it was evil. God’s voice can be favorable or unfavorable depending on alignment with Him. Good and righteous people, all creation should praise God for His favor in various ways- lyre and harps and new [...]

OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES AND SUCKLINGS

TOPIC: Out of the mouth of Babes and Sucklings TEXT: Psalm 8:2; Matthew 11:25; Psalm 19: INTRODUCTION: Micah! Micah! Who is like God. God is a wise God who makes His power, and might, known through what man could not fathom. The reason is to confound the enemies or opposition who would want to hinder or stop His will. His word and His promises are forever settled in heaven and would not return to him void until they accomplish what He purposed them to do. So, no matter what anyone does, they cannot topple His will. What a mighty God we serve. One of the sad issues confronting the Church today is the contention over doctrines. This is not a new thing, as it had been on since the inception of the Church. Paul in writing to the church at Corinth heard there was contention over certain doctrines especially baptism. [...]

KEYS TO A VIABLE ALTAR

TOPIC: Keys to a viable altar TEXT: Psalm 118:5, 10-13; Matthew 24:49 INTRODUCTION: A person who is in a strait tight corner and who is encompassed by enemies incensed with anger and ready to swallow him, needs nothing more than a working altar. We discussed last week how we could repair the altar and today we will be looking at the responsibilities. An altar that has the hand of God in it is always assured of victory and with sounds of joy. The hand of God in it cause mighty things to be done. What men think is impossible becomes possible and the rejected becomes one that cannot be overlooked. For this to happen, the repaired altar must have a sacrifice acceptable to the supervising spirit of the altar. In case of new testament believers, there are two things that are required; faith without which no one can see God. [...]

REPAIR THE ALTAR

TOPIC: Repair the altar TEXT: Psalm 68: 15-20; 2Chronicles 7:14 INTRODUCTION: Last week we talked about arising from sleep and that the main means of rising is prayer. A person that is spiritually asleep has no connection with  the spirit realm and hence cannot perceive anything from the spirit realm. They perceive mainly in the physical realm. Prayer is the means by which communication is enabled between the realms, so that help can be obtained from the spirit realm. An altar is a place of communion, a landing pad for the spiritual entity from the spiritual that bring solutions. For communication to take place between the realm a sacrifice must be made by the human. Every altar that is set up has a supervising spirit that manifests when the sacrifice is pleasing and acceptable. The highest and most powerful altar is the cross of calvary and Jesus is the supervising [...]

RISE FROM SLEEP

TOPIC: Rise from sleep TEXT: PSALM 65:1-3; Habakkuk 3:2; INTRODUCTION: Every believer is called (Rom.8:30) into a union with Christ. He is the sole means of spiritual life for anyone who wants intimacy with the God the Father (1Cor.1:9). Jesus assures us that no one can go to the father except through Him. For this privilege, we have to be thankful. However, a lot of believers have forgotten this fact and have sort of slept spiritually by being out of union with Him. It is the union with Christ that brings the glory of the father, and that enables any work for God to be done. To do anything for God, you have to be awake to see what He wants you to do, and this begins in the spiritual realm (John 5:19). God is faithful, in that when He calls a person, and the person is sleeping, He will [...]
